Frank Body – Coffee Based Skincare for all Babes

I’ve been eyeing Frank Body for a while now as I’ve heard so many great things about their coffee scrub, and was super excited when I saw that they had quite the collection of skin care products. I recently purchased the Creamy Face Cleanser, Creamy Face Scrub and Glow Mask, and have been really enjoying them! Before we get into the products themselves, I just wanted to share some information about the brand and what I love about them (not sponsored, just obsessed 😍).

Frank Body’s story began in 2013 with just one product, the original coffee scrub, available only online. Fast forward a few years, Frank’s original coffee scrub has nearly 450 reviews on their website, with 5 out of 5 stars, and a lot more flavours to choose from including coconut, cacao and peppermint. Frank then also starts rolling out other coffee based products including body creams, lip care, skincare and makeup.

So, why coffee? Coffee is not only the most warming and delicious drink (IMO), but is also great for the skin when used topically. Coffee beans are packed with antioxidants and their grinds are perfect for exfoliating — this all helps to stimulates blood flow and promote collagen production.

What I especially love about Frank Body is that their products are all around 98-99% derived from non-toxic, natural ingredients, so even the babes out there with sensitive skin don’t have to worry! The additional benefit to being naturally derived is that there is no animal testing required. Also, like B and I, Frank is based in Melbourne and all his products are Australian made!

Now that I’ve rambled on enough, let’s head straight into the products.

Creamy Face Cleanser

This cleanser is super gentle on the skin and packed full of great ingredients including activated charcoal to help purify and detoxify the skin, and heaps of nourishing oils and butters that hydrate and help remove makeup (coconut oil, soybean oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter and cocoa butter). It also has Vitamin E to fight free radicals and fade scars, Marshmallow root to calm redness and irritation, and of course, coffee arabica seed extract to stimulate blood flow.

On Frank’s official website this product is described as ‘the dirtiest looking, but cleanest-cleanser’. The grey hue from the activated charcoal was definitely a bit shocking at first! Keep in mind that this isn’t one of those foaming cleansers that a lot of us may be used to — it remains a silky cream consistency when worked into the face. What I love about this cleanser is that it leaves your skin feeling super clean but still hydrated due to all the oils and butters. The only downside is the smell — as it doesn’t contain any fragrance it has a pretty strong clay smell. After washing my face at night I can still smell it even after applying all my skincare, but I can’t notice it in the morning (I’m not sure if it’s because the smell went away or my nose just got used to it 😂).

Creamy Face Scrub

This product contains white clay (which has similar benefits to activated charcoal) and also a bunch of nourishing oils and butters such as grapeseed, sweet almond, shea, and rose-hip oil. Rose-hip oil is so great for the skin as it is packed full of vitamins and antioxidants to slow down skin aging, and essential fatty acids that help create the skin’s natural oil barrier to lock in hydration. I’ve been using rose-hip oil in my skincare routine for around a year now and I cannot live without it — it’s amazing at moisturising the skin and fading acne scars!

The exfoliating coffee seed and walnut shell particles are a little on the large side —which is effective in removing the dead skin, but you just have to be careful not to rub too hard or you might irritate the delicate skin of the face. It leaves the skin supple and smooth, which makes me super happy because my skin gets really dry and flaky in the winter!

Glow Mask

This mask’s base ingredients are similar to the previous two, with the coffee seed oil and shea and cocoa butters. However, what makes this different is that it has Goji berry extract and oils from the vitamin packed raspberry and cranberry. These berries are what make this mask a glow mask, as they have properties that make your skin look radiant, bright and bouncy.

The first time I used this mask, I was…confused. What the heck is this consistency? Why did it just disappear on my face? How did it dry down so freaking fast?! – was all that I was thinking. I’ve definitely never used a mask of this consistency. Now, as I haven’t used this product for too long I can’t tell you if it has made any long-term drastic changes to my skin, but what I can tell you is that it will give you a fresh glow right after you wash it off. As it only takes 5 minutes for this mask to do its magic, it’s great for prepping the skin before applying makeup in the morning!

Overall, I highly recommend trying out Frank Body products! They’re packed with super nourishing natural ingredients and are offered at a great price point — all 3 products were $21.95. I’m really looking forward to trying more of their products, especially the original coffee scrub and lip & cheek tints.

Have you tried any natural beauty products? If you have, please let me know your recommendations – I’m really looking to incorporate more natural products into my beauty routine!

Love,
