I love rose everything – from rose perfume to rose water, and skincare is no exception. The products below are my ultimate favs and are all from natural skincare brands. They have so many benefits and smell so good. 😍
1. Rose Body Oil
I’m on my second bottle of this baby. Jurlique is a great Aussie brand and they grow their own organic ingredients. This product also has ingredients such as macadamia oil and safflower oil, which nourishes the skin and makes this body oil super moisturising. I don’t have dry skin but I think this would work great for those who do.
It has a very natural rose scent, nothing overwhelming and I adore the scent sooo much. It’s pretty hydrating so I love it for dry winter days. It also works great in summer as it absorbs fast and doesn’t leave a greasy residue like some other oils do. I like to pair it with their rose shower gel, and oh my godddd it leaves my skin so soft!! I will definitely rebuy another bottle when I finish this one.
2. Rosewater Balancing Mist
This is another product from Jurlique and is one of their bestsellers. It’s easy to see why! It’s a daily hydrating mist that has extracts such as rose, marshmallow root and aloe vera leaf. It doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals. As with the body oil, it has a lovely natural scent. I feel like I’m walking through a rose field when I spray it. The mist is super gentle on the skin so it would be great for sensitive skin.
It does exactly as described – it hydrates and refreshes the skin. The spray nozzle is also pretty good, a million times better than the one on Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I may have gotten a dud but that spray distribution was so uneven… It felt like an aggressive sneeze in the face.
I usually use this to set my makeup when I’ve run out of setting spray, or when I want that dewy skin look. I use it more in summer as it feels super light. It’s just a simple product that is a great pick me up. I always want to travel with it or bring it when I go out, but the bottle is too heavy 😦 Also, it may be a bit pricey for a mist. It retails at $49 AUD for 100ml. You can get the Mario Badescu rosewater spray (118ml) for $10 AUD, or Innisfree sprays for a lot cheaper. But I’m a sucker for how Jurlique uses ingredients from their organic farm in Adelaide and everything their brand stands for. It really is a great mist so it balances out that price point imo.
3. Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence – Rose Edition
This!! This essence is my skincare holy grail. I was pretty skeptical at first when I tried it as a dupe for the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. This product is pretty simple as it only has nine ingredients and is alcohol free. Notable ingredients are 94% galactomyces ferment filtrate and niacinamide. Secret Key claims this product has ten benefits which includes hydrating, evening out skin tone, brightening and soothing the skin. I haven’t tried the regular version but I’ve heard it’s not as good as the rose edition.
It has a very light consistency and kinda feels like (and looks like) water. I love how it gives an immediate glow after application. I use it mainly in the mornings and it keeps my skin feeling hydrated and radiant throughout the day. My skin just doesn’t feel as good when I stop using it. Over time, it brightens my stubborn acne marks and corrects dullness. It does it more effectively than popular products like Klair’s Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum. The essence also soothes my skin when I get hormonal acne. I don’t even feel like I need to wear foundation just because of this product!
I’ve already used half of the bottle (as you can see I’ve already rubbed off the words). I can’t imagine my skincare routine without it. The glass bottle is sturdy and hasn’t broken despite the many times I’ve dropped it. Overall, I’d say it’s particularly suitable for acne skin or sensitive skin since it’s free of fragrance and harsh chemicals. Buuut… It’s not guaranteed to work for everyone (YMMV). There’s heaps of rave reviews online but for C, it only made her skin more dry. 😂 I still think it’s worth the try since it’s pretty cheap compared to SK-II and works just as well.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my fav rose skincare products! Have you tried any of them? Or do you have any recommendations? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
Love,
